Having been a part of each other’s lives since they were teenagers, it was known that Jacob & Kelsea had that forever type of love. After 9 years together, Jacob decided to make it official by acting like he had won an expense paid trip for two to the British Virgin Islands and the only stipulation was that the couple had to leave the very next day. Kelsea had her suspicions when Jacob would refuse to answer any questions about this extremely sudden (and FREE) vacation right after they had just gone ring shopping, but she wasn’t complaining. Kelsea recalls the moment Jacob mentioned the trip to her. “We actually have won trips before so it didn’t seem totally out of the ballpark! I didn’t suspect anything until we got to our hotel and he told me I had a spa appointment. I told him a while back that my one proposal requirement was that I had to have my nails done, so as soon as he said that, I knew what was going to happen and I couldn’t have been more excited”, she says. After her much appreciated spa day, Jacob took Kelsea to a secluded island only reachable via kayak. They arrived to their very own private beach equipped with a photographer ready to shoot this truly unforgettable moment.
It was unbelievable that after 9 short years they were finally engaged. Kelsea says everything after that moment felt like a blur, but the feeling of talking to her best friend for the very first time would keep replaying for a lifetime. This Casa Couple still reminisces about their first date —strolling along the Laguna Beach boardwalk while watching the sky change to the most gorgeous arrangement of pastels. Many magical moments later, Jacob and Kelsea took their love to Old Town Orange to attend Chapman University, then moved to Dallas, and finally made the adventure-filled city of Seattle their home away from home. The couple still tries to make it down to Southern California as much as they can to soak in the sunshine and visit with their adoring families.
When it came down to choosing a venue for their special day, Kelsea’s mother (gone wedding planner) went searching nearby and Casa Romantica checked every box on their list. The couple had already lined up St. Edwards Catholic Church for the ceremony and originally thought the drive to a second venue would be a nuisance, but it actually turned out to be one of their highlights. The 15 minute drive allowed them to be alone together, soak in the fact they were officially married, and enjoy a few glasses of champagne before the big party began!
The style of their wedding took inspiration from our historic Spanish revival ground. All of the clean white floral and greenery based arrangements and decor were pretty minimal as to allow the architecture and design of Casa Romantica to stand beautifully on its own. Kelsea’s dress was adorned in all lace to match the eclectic Spanish theme.
For vendors, the couple chose to use Iva Lee’s Catering for their food and beverage needs. They were easy to work with, affordable, and the food was just as amazing as the service. For photography, Jacob & Kelsea chose Tony Wodarck and Sam De Leon for videography. Both have a unique style to their work that entranced the happy couple immensely. In terms of entertainment, DJ Michael Tiernan from Still Listening Productions was an incredible talent. He not only kept the party lively, but also made Jacob & Kelsey feel special by singing live for their first dance and cocktail hour music. Florals were executed to perfection by Shannon O’Neill from Cargo Creative. She brought Kelsea’s vision to life just like Kelsea knew she would have from past events they had collaborated on. The tedious task of coordination went to Cori Sponagle from Events by Cori. She is super responsive and knows Casa Romantica inside and out so, she was a really great addition to this super-star team of vendors.
This stunning February evening was filled with many memories that will never go forgotten. From the intimate “First Look” to their heartfelt first dance on the ocean terrace, the whole day was magical and with the absolute perfect weather if we may add. Casa Romantica is a place where Jacob and Kelsea are excited to take their future children to someday. They look forward to not only showing them the history this property withholds, but also giving their children a look into what used to be. We can’t wait for Jacob and Kelsea to come visit us and we wish them the absolute best.
