Casa Romantica hosts a variety of free arts education programs for children year-round. The institution’s annual free Casa Romantica Music Festival and Academy for selected elementary and middle school students has received critical praise for its comprehensive two-week music studies program in cello, piano, viola, and violin. Casa Romantica also offers a free annual two-week Summer Dance Workshop for selected elementary and middle school students that teaches ballet, jazz, modern, and hip-hop styles.

Group and one-on-one lessons, theory and choreography, supervised practice time, and fun STEAM-based activities are provided by Casa Romantica along with instruments and lunch. The Music Festival and Academy features a concert by its faculty. Both two-week programs conclude with a public recital by the children. Studies have shown that musical and kinetic instruction during childhood contribute to better focus, higher test scores, and better long-term memory.

Casa Romantica also hosts an annual Spring Break Arts Week, various art, literature, and horticulture events to grades K-12, and welcomes over 2,000 children from the Capistrano Unified School District each year for STEAM-based field trips that examine the history of San Clemente and the coastal environment.

Weekly Story Time

Casa Kids hosts Story Time every Wednesday from 10am - 10:30am for children ages 2-6. Join us as we read classic tales, new books, and dance the hokey-pokey.

Support for the Music Festival and Academy is provided by Dr. Ron & Margaret Redmond. Support for the Summer Dance Workshop is provided by Bonnie & Ralph Koch.
