Casa Captivating
Mr. and Mrs. Rafik and Eileen Daher have elected to underwrite Casa Classic: California Chamber Orchestra in support of Casa Romantica’s wide-ranging Casa Classic series. The San Clemente residents and business owners have supported Casa Romantica as members and as volunteers for nearly a decade, and gift Casa Romantica with philanthropic support annually as sponsors at the arts institution’s annual gala, Toast to the Casa.
Casa Romantica (CR) interviewed Rafik and Eileen (Daher) about their support of the event, and why they support Casa Romantica’s artistic and educational programs in so many ways.
CR: What attracted you to underwrite Casa Classic: California Chamber Orchestra?
Daher: We are excited to be a part of bringing the California Chamber Orchestra to San Clemente in a performance of Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” in an intimate setting at Casa Romantica. We hope to provide the opportunity for people of all ages in our community to enjoy a classical performance by professional musicians at an affordable cost.
CR: What is a memorable experience with art or culture that you have had?
Daher: Through a mutual love of world travel we have been able to experience a wide variety of cultures. One of our most memorable experiences was attending the Mariinsky Ballet performance of “Sleeping Beauty” at the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg, Russia in 2015.
CR: Why is it important that people of all ages have access to art, culture, and history?
Daher: It is important that people of all ages have access to art, culture and history to have a greater understanding of the people and their culture that make up the United States of America. It is with this understanding that we are able to respect and share each other’s value systems.
CR: As active members and volunteers, how do you see Casa Romantica’s cultural and arts education programs impacting the Orange County community?
Daher: Casa Romantica’s cultural and arts education programs impact the Orange County community by enriching their knowledge, creating ideas and giving a deeper understanding of each other.
